General Anesthesia: Dr. Jeremy Hixson is trained in administering general anesthesia through an IV to ensure that patients are unable to feel the discomfort of their necessary procedure. Even those receiving simple procedures can have this sedation, depending on their level of anxiety.
Nitrous Oxide: Nitrous oxide is a mild sedative, and it often has an analgesic effect, which allows the patient to feel relaxed while remaining conscious during the surgical treatment.
Local Anesthetic: Local anesthetics are used to control the pain in the specific treatment area. Any patient receiving this remains complete conscious throughout the procedure. Local anesthesia is commonly used for minor soft tissue procedures and tooth extractions.
Hospital Sedation: With hospital sedation, a patient is admitted to a hospital or surgery center and receives anesthesia from an anesthesiologist.
